| The Value of Automated Solutions Offered from CI Systems Tuesday, December 4, 2007 – 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM Description Presentations and demonstrations will be presented by Cipher & Strategy. Strategy will provide an overview of the Intelligence Cycle, a demonstration of the Competitor Information Management Suite and conclude with a perspective on the future of CI software. Cipher will begin their presentation by briefly discussing trends in competitive intelligence software. They will then present the ten best practice steps to choosing software for your firm, and finish with a short presentation about Cipher and their solution, Knowledge.Works. Knowledge.Works is a custom relational database solution that supports all phases of the intelligence process – data collection, aggregation, indexing, searching, analysis, reporting and collaboration. In the "theory vs. reality" struggle, Matthew is a staunch defender of ensuring that competitive business strategies actually work when implemented in the real world. This hallmark trait is critical as he works in a wide range of industries with companies of all sizes to use technology to increase their competitiveness, both tactically day-to-day and strategically long term. Matthew's business career began in high tech where - in addition to corporate training and business development he designed and helped implement sales processes that reduce sales cycle time, cut cost of sales and increase sales volume. SSI is the second successful startup he has helped to establish. The first, GraphiCode, was sold in 2001 to a privately held German company. He has conceived and supervised the creation of four software producs in two different industries. He has taught the Competitive Intelligence for Sales and Marketing seminar for the American Marketing Association Marketing Workshop since 2003. He has been a member of SCIP since 1998, and a member of the SLA since 2005. He has publised numeroius papers and articles about competitive intelligence and knowledge management. Matthew is a former US Coast Gurad Officer and Polar Incebreaker pilot.
